Keeping a website secure is a full time job. That’s why the security team at HostTheory is on the job 24/7, monitoring your site for suspicious activity and protecting it against attacks.
Hosting your website, domain and email is an important factory with performance. Although it’s preferred to have all three hosted under one account with one hosting company, there are exceptions. Depending on the policies and security of your company, you may require an in-house email server such as a Microsoft Exchange server. This is usually maintained by an IT professional.
If you’re new to all of this and need assistance, we can certainly recommend a quality hosting company as well as maintain the performance. JMCreative does not house internal servers and prefer to leave that to folks more trusted and experienced in this area.
JMCreative is an advocate for keeping these types of accounts under one roof and in the hands of the business owner. We can help you gain control over your accounts and as well as setting up required assets to keep things running smoothly.
Too many times have I personally experienced a business not having control over their domain name, or even where their website is being hosted. Hosting accounts of all types are similar to bank accounts. Once someone registers a domain name or web hosting plan in their name, chances are they can take simple measures in claiming that domain name for themselves; even if you’ve paid them for it! In that scenario, typically a phone call or email is made to take back ownership and control. If that effort fails, legal action may be the only other option, and that can be costly!
JMCreative may ask or require access to your account to perform specific functions pertaining to your website. Our policy requires that we walk you through the steps of locking JMCreative out of your account once work is completed.
We can certainly setup up and even purchase hosted related items on behalf of the client. Again, our policy is to make certain that the account is listed under the clients’ name or business name along with the proper contact information. Once JMCreaitve has completed all necessary steps, or for any unfortunate reason we depart from a clients’ relationship, instructions will be sent to ensure we no longer have access.
